The occasion saw the presentation of the MY 2011 MiTo, available for purchase across all the major European countries from April. New exterior colours and new interior fabrics, brand-new options and further improved driving comfort and feel are features of the range. The exclusive “Quadrifoglio Verde” version will also be revitalised. To allow the public to appreciate the sporty and elegant spirit of the “sportiest mini ever”, the Geneva motor show is displaying a powerful “Quadrifoglio Verde” equipped with a 1.4 MultiAir Turbo 170 HP (awarded Best New Engine of the Year by an international panel of experts) plus new Sabelt sport seats with carbon fibre backrests, along with a sophisticated version equipped with the 1.4 MultiAir Turbo 135 HP engine combined with the innovative “Alfa TCT” twin-clutch automatic transmission and Start&Stop. For the first time ever, this version is available in the new “metallic bronze” exterior colour combined with new Tecnosilk two-tone (bronze and black) interior upholstery: two highly appealing features that emphasise the model’s elegant spirit.
The spotlights will also naturally be on the Giulietta, a genuine blend of performance, comfort and safety. It is no coincidence that the car is captivating European customers and the international press, which have awarded it 16 prizes to date. Outstanding performance levels come courtesy of the engines, all turbo and Euro 5. A DNA system with electronic Q2 is fitted as standard to all models to adapt the car's personality to its driver's needs and to variable road conditions. The car’s superb performance is amply demonstrated by the 235 HP 1750 Tbi engine – the engine with the highest maximum torque in the world (340 Nm at just 1,900 rpm) and by the 105 HP 1.6 JTDM, also with the highest torque values in its class (320 Nm at just 1,750 rpm). In terms of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, excellent results have been obtained by the new “Alfa TCT” automatic twin dry clutch transmission combined with the revolutionary 1.4 MultiAir Turbopetrol 170 HP engine (“Best New Engine 2010”). This drivetrain takes the Giulietta’s CO2 emissions to a record value (for comparable engines) of just 121 g/km. The Giulietta also ensures low running costs, especially in the diesel versions, plus the longest service intervals in the class. In addition to the superb accommodation it offers in terms of driving comfort and roominess, the Giulietta is also the safest hatchback saloon on the road, according to Euro NCAP. Credit for this lies with “Compact” architecture and a host of active and passive, standard safety systems. These include brand new solutions like the pre-fill braking system that reduces stopping distances under emergency braking conditions.
The multi award-winning new Alfa Romeo will be present at Geneva in two versions: a 235 HP Quadrifoglio Verde 1750 TBi in Competition Red and a 170 HP Distinctive 1.4 MultiAir Turbopetrol “Alfa TCT" in Antracite Grey with Start&Stop as standard. Both of the cars on show feature a long list of equipment. The infotainment setup on board is worthy of special mention, starting with “Blue&Me–TomTom”, the latest development of the Blue&Me system. Visitors can also admire the “RadioNav” satellite navigation system that constitutes the new generation of entertainment and satellite navigation developed by Magneti Marelli for Alfa Romeo. The system incorporates a satellite navigation system, radio with two tuners, including one dedicated to traffic information reception, CD and MP3 player and European maps on an SD card for rapid data access and route calculation times. The 6.5 inch colour display is high definition.
The stand features a series of illuminated niches housing accessories from the Alfa Romeo Store. Visitors will also be able to find out about the products on offer from FGA Capital, the finance company specialising in the automotive sector. (FGA Capital is a joint venture between Fiat Group Automobiles and Crédit Agricole.) FGA Capital’s mission is to support sales of all Fiat Group Automobiles brand vehicles by offering innovative financial products with high added value services targeting the dealership network, private customers and companies.
</field><field name="ar_date" pattern="dd/MM/yyyy">14/02/2011</field><field name="ar_thumbnailImage">/com/media/image/news/2011/geneva-motor-show-thumb.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage1">/com/media/image/news/2011/geneva-motor-show-thumb.jpg</field><field name="ar_largeImage1">/com/media/image/news/2011/geneva-motor-show-zoom.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage2"></field><field name="ar_largeImage2"></field><field name="ar_mediumImage3"></field><field name="ar_largeImage3"></field><field name="ar_contentCategories"></field>

<field name="ar_titleNote">MiTo MY</field><field name="ar_abstract">World premiere for the MiTo MY</field><field name="ar_text">
The new MiTo appears in a brand-new “metallic bronze” metal flake shade combined with a two-tone interior and special trim for the dashboard insert and door panels. A new high-tech fabric has been added for the seats, consisting of a smooth, compact elastic mesh with a fine and shiny appearance like silk. The look is emphasised by electro-welded graphics with double two-tone bronze and black inserts, “breaked line” titanium decoration, surround seams and stylish dashboard trim colour. The result is a greater emphasis on the elegant spirit of the model. The car on display at the Motor Show features this stylish colour scheme combined with the appealing 135 HP 1.4 MultiAir Turbo engine and “Alfa TCT” transmission for excellent performance (7.1 l/100 km in the urban cycle; emissions of only 126 g/km of CO2; and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds). These specifications are even better than those for the same engine with manual transmission (where the figures are 7.4 l/100 km, 129 g/km and 8.4 seconds respectively).

The second car on display presents the "dynamic" spirit of the Alfa Romeo MiTo to the general public. The Swiss venue is hosting the “Quadrifoglio Verde”, a legendary name that over the years has identified some of Alfa Romeo's sportiest products. This exclusive version is packed with new features. A new front surround under the badge broadens the lower part of the front, emphasising the impression of a car with a vice-like grip on the road. Highlights of this original version also include top-quality new “Quadrifoglio Verde” logos in Alcantara® combined with a brand new, wear resistant fabric. The totally black interior looks particularly determined and sporty and the detailing of the crafted two-tone stitching (white and green) on the seats, steering wheel and handbrake gaiter and lever only serve to underscore the spirit of this outfit.

There are also a number of new options: 18” alloy wheels with special treatment and sporty Sabelt seats with a wraparound backrest in carbon fibre made using innovative RTM (Resin Transfer Moulding) technology for greater great mechanical strength and reduced size and weight. Last but not least, the MiTo MY 2011 sees the debut of a USB and AUX-in socket that allows you to connect your MP3 player directly to the Blue&Me system.

The Quadrifoglio version is fitted with he 170 HP 1.4 MultiAir Turbo, the most powerful engine in the range, voted the “best new engine of the year 2010” by an international panel. Alfa Romeo has also equipped the car with innovative solutions to accentuate its tried and tested attributes. These include “Dynamic Suspension”, a system that actively and continuously controls the electronic shock absorbers. A blend of experience gained on the racetrack, this system allows the MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde to excel even further in terms of agility and handling, giving it exceptional driveability and unparalleled safety.

In short, the Alfa Romeo MiTo MY 2011 enjoys a revitalised, high-tech image while retaining its position as a sporty compact capable of winning over customers who care for details and maximum driving comfort. It is no coincidence that the high-performance models in the 2011 range feature brand new variable response shock absorbers with by-pass valves for improved comfort over rough roads without compromising the vehicle's dynamic control and driving satisfaction – features unrivalled by any other car in the class.

The Alfa Romeo MiTo MY 2011 range includes two turbo diesel engines (the 95 HP 1.3 JTDM-2 and the 120 HP 1.6 JTDM, both with service intervals of 35,000 km) and four petrol engines. In addition to the 78 HP 1.4, customers can choose from three MultiAir engines: a 105 HP 1.4, a 135 HP Turbopetrol (with manual gearbox or “Alfa TCT” automatic transmission), and a 170 HP turbo petrol.
</field><field name="ar_date" pattern="dd/MM/yyyy">14/02/2011</field><field name="ar_thumbnailImage">/com/media/image/news/2011/mito-my1-thumb.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage1">/com/media/image/news/2011/mito-my1-thumb.jpg</field><field name="ar_largeImage1">/com/media/image/news/2011/mito-my1-zoom.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage2">/com/media/image/news/2011/mito-my2-thumb.jpg</field><field name="ar_largeImage2">/com/media/image/news/2011/mito-my2-zoom.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage3">/com/media/image/news/2011/mito-qv1-thumb.jpg</field><field name="ar_largeImage3">/com/media/image/news/2011/mito-qv1-zoom.jpg</field><field name="ar_contentCategories"></field>

<field name="ar_titleNote">Alfa Romeo Info Mobile</field><field name="ar_abstract">Advent of Alfa Romeo Info Mobile</field><field name="ar_text">

The same values lie behind the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept, a compact "supercar" which represents the true essence of a sports car according to the values of the brand: performance, Italian style and technical excellence, offering maximum driving pleasure in total safety. That's why the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept is "Ambassador DNA Technology", or ambassador of the engineering heritage that distinguishes the Alfa Romeo vehicles of today and tomorrow.
"D.N.A. Technology" is the Alfa Romeo philosophy for the technical development of all its models. Every car must know how to combine excellent dynamic performance (according to the brand's tradition), performance efficiency and environmental sustainability, maximum comfort and active and passive safety with control in all conditions.
In this perspective the 4C concept is the most advanced level of "D.N.A. Technology", where the "D" of Dynamic, linked to the performance and dynamics of the vehicle, is enhanced by transferring the perfect equilibrium between pleasure and thrill of performance with the awareness of efficiency in the daily driving experience.
The car on display in Frankfurt is marked by the new "Fluid Metal" livery that dynamically enhances the smooth, curvy and original lines. And precisely thanks to this attractive "Made in Italy" exterior, the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept has been voted "Most Beautiful Concept Car of the Year" by the readers of the German magazine, Auto Bild, coming out on top of its many competitors presented over recent months at the Geneva, Detroit, Tokyo and Shanghai Motor Shows.
The launch of the 4C is scheduled in 2013. In recent months the project was refined and enriched with technical contents to enhance the dynamic excellence of the car. The weight is confirmed at around 850 kg, with power topping 200 HP and a weight to power ratio less than 4 kg/HP, a value worthy of a real "supercar".
The concept presents the formula of the two-seater, rear-wheel drive coupé with its central engine, a length of approximately 4 metres and a wheelbase of less than 2.4 metres. These dimensions on the one hand emphasise the car's compact attributes while also accentuating its agility on the other.
The Alfa Romeo 4C Concept uses technology and materials derived from the 8C Competizione - carbon, aluminium, rear-wheel drive - and technology from Alfa Romeo models currently on sale: the 1750 turbo petrol engine with direct injection, the "Alfa TCT" twin dry clutch transmission, in short all the best of the "D.N.A. Technology", obviously including the Alfa DNA dynamic control selector that is its physical expression inside the interior of all the Alfa Romeo's.
Together with this fascinating car, queens of the stand in Frankfurt are the Giulietta and Mito models with their latest stylistic and technological innovations which represent a perfect union between performance, comfort and efficiency, in line with the Alfa "D.N.A. Technology" philosophy.
The spotlights will also be on the Alfa Romeo Giulietta in the 170 HP 1.4 TB MultiAir with Alfa TCT version, in which the Alfa "D.N.A. Technology" is tangibly seen. Dynamic: reference is clearly made to the automatic gearbox also installed on the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept "supercar", a twin dry clutch transmission that ensures greater driving comfort and a sportier feeling than the automatic gearboxes with torque converter, but with lower running costs. Natural: because the fuel consumption and emissions are extraordinarily reduced. All weather: there will be a customised adjustment to get maximum grip in the most difficult situations.
This advanced automatic transmission can operate in totally automatic or sequential mode by manually managing the "up and down" positions of the accurate and ergonomic gear lever with which can be combined with the "shift paddles" on the steering wheel.
This gearbox, available on the 170 HP 1.4 TB MultiAir and on the 170 HP 2.0 JTDM, makes the Giulietta MultiAir with TCT the most eco-friendly petrol compact in its category and achieves the best efficiency/performance ratio. In particular the Giulietta MultiAir with TCT is the most eco-friendly petrol compact car of its class. In fact, extremely low fuel consumption and emissions (5.2 l/100 km in the combined cycle and 121 g/km emissions of CO2) and at the same time with excellent performance worthy of an Alfa Romeo are recorded: 218 km/h top speed and 7.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.
For all these reasons the Giulietta is achieving excellent sales figures and also preserves its value over time by recording a residual value at the top of its class on all the markets.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta is showcased in Frankfurt with another two models: the cutting-edge of the Giulietta range, a Quadrifoglio Verde 235 HP 1750 Tbi in the Rosso Competizione three-layer colour, and a Distinctive in the shade of Grigio Magnesio equipped with the brilliant 170 HP 2.0 JTDM and all the technical equipment that typifies the range: from the bi-xenon headlights with AFS function (an advanced, state-of-the-art control system that automatically regulates the headlight beam in accordance with the commands given on the steering wheel and that can perform a rotation of up to a maximum of 15°) and the navigation system with maps, pop-up display and TMC Pro to the BOSE Hi-Fi system, Blue&Me system with controls on the steering wheel and AUX, USB and Bluetooth port.
Whatever the Giulietta engine may be, only one philosophy lies behind it: "D.N.A. Technology", that is to say that of combining performance, efficiency and comfort. All the engines are turbo and the set-up has been developed to optimise the "torque efficiency", maximizing performance and minimising fuel consumption, therefore "performance never to the detriment of fuel consumption, and fuel consumption never to the detriment of performance".
The Alfa Romeo stand certainly would not be complete without the MiTo model that has recently been revamped with the introduction of important innovations. First of all, product innovations: all the Mito engines meet Euro 5 regulations and are equipped with Start & Stop as standard.
The set-ups have been revised in order to maximise performance and comfort on the aspirated engines and on the efficient 1.3 JTDm. Added to the high-performance engines (135 HP and 170 HP 1.4 MultiAir Turbopetrol, and 120 HP 1.6 JTDm) are the brand new variable response shock absorbers, with by-pass valve - the "Alfa Adaptive Suspension" - which improve comfort in the stresses due to the various roughnesses in the road while keeping the vehicle's high dynamic control unaltered.
Finally, for the customers interested in maximum driving pleasure, available on the powerful 170 HP 1.4 MultiAir Turbo, the Alfa Romeo MiTo offers the "Alfa Active Suspension", the only car of its class offering this type of content: a system which actively and continuously controls the electronic shock absorbers, perfectly integrated with the "D.N.A. Technology", and manageable through its physical expression inside, that is to say the Alfa D.N.A. driving style selector.
The MiTo therefore confirms it is one of the most technological cars of its class. But in addition to the important product innovations, the model also presents new stylistic features: more external colours available, new interior fabrics and interior shades, new exterior customisation of the headlight frames and mirror fairings to achieve an innumerable number of possible combinations.
Today in Frankfurt MiTo is presenting an important innovations that in the forthcoming months will debut in the range and confirm, yet again, the technological and advanced essence of the little Alfa: the revolutionary 85 HP TwinAir Turbo.
The engine was recently awarded a generous four acknowledgements, excelling over the competitors' engines in all categories in which it competed: Best Engine in its displacement category (under 1,000 cm3), "Best New Engine 2011", "Best Green Engine 2011" and, above all, "International Engine of the Year 2011".
With a power of 85 HP at 5,500 rpm, but above all with a remarkable torque of 145 Nm constantly between 2,000 and 3,500 rpm, it guarantees promptness of response and agility with respect to a significant reduction in fuel consumption and emissions (only 98 g/km of CO2 emissions)
Later will be available also the 85 HP 1.3 JTDm with Start&Stop system as standard that ensures maximum levels of economy and ecology. Equipped with a variable geometry turbocharger, a new variable displacement oil pump and alternator with "smart charge", the 1.3 JTDm produces just 90 g/km of CO2 emissions in the mixed cycle and belongs to the second generation of Multijet engines.
In addition, representing the dual sporty and elegant spirit of the "sportiest mini ever", the exclusive "Quadrifoglio Verde" is also on display at the German show. Coinciding with the debut of the 2011 range, it has been revamped with original and distinctive styling features and other contents of enormous interest in the field of comfort. The MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde, equipped with the powerful 170 HP 1.4 MultiAir Turbo (awarded Best New Engine of the Year 2010), offers the innovative "Alfa Active Suspension", a system that actively and continuously controls the electronic shock absorbers developed by teaming the designers and road testers of Alfa Romeo with the latest engineering techniques from Magneti Marelli.
A blend of experience gained on the racetrack, the system allows the MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde to excel even further in terms of agility and handling, giving it exceptional driveability and unparalleled safety. Without considering that the "Alfa Active Suspension" system perfectly interfaces with the three different dynamic control settings of the "Alfa DNA" device ("Dynamic", "Natural" and "All Weather"), managing all the Alfa "D.N.A. Technology" applications on the car: from the ESP, steering column and Q2 electronic differential to engine response and, if present, the Alfa TCT.
Therefore, the 4C Concept, Giulietta and MiTo models are the perfect expression of the "Alfa D.N.A. Technology" philosophy: the industrial design of vehicles with state-of-the-art mechanics and engineering able to achieve a compromise between the features of comfort, performance, safety and efficiency, giving the driver the possibility to customise the car's character using the Alfa D.N.A. selector. These are precisely the features which make an Alfa Romeo such a special car, a product that in everyday use turns the concept of simple "means of transport" into an all-round thrilling driving experience.
Finally, brochures and certain dedicated publications at the stand will be introducing visitors to the products of FGA Capital, a financial company (joint venture of Fiat Group Automobiles and Crédit Agricole) specialised in the automotive segment. The company is operating in all the major European markets, and in Germany with FGA Bank, with a sole mission: support the sales of all the Fiat Group Automobiles brand vehicles by offering innovative financial products with high added value services targeted at the dealership network, private customers and companies.
</field><field name="ar_date" pattern="dd/MM/yyyy">30/08/2011</field><field name="ar_thumbnailImage">/com/media/image/news/2011/salone-francoforte-news-t.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage1">/com/media/image/news/2011/salone-francoforte-news-t.jpg</field><field name="ar_largeImage1">/com/media/image/news/2011/salone-francoforte-news-z.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage2"></field><field name="ar_largeImage2"></field><field name="ar_mediumImage3"></field><field name="ar_largeImage3"></field><field name="ar_contentCategories"></field>

<field name="ar_titleNote">MiTo Vertical Stage Session</field><field name="ar_abstract">Live music at Vertical Stage with the Alfa Romeo MiTo stops off at the European Parliament Building</field><field name="ar_text">
As close to the world of music as ever, Alfa Romeo is launching a truly unique music event this month: on Friday 9 September, for the first time, the façade of the European Parliament in Brussels will become the “vertical” stage for some of the most famous international DJs. The Alfa Romeo MiTo is taking a leading role in and is official car of the third edition of Vertical Stage, the music project that has broken the boundaries of traditional live concerts, with artists giving “suspended” performances.
Part of the Youth Convention on Volunteering, the biggest public event organised by the European Youth Forum from September 7 to 11 to celebrate the work of young volunteers, Vertical Stage will be electrifying the square in the heart of Europe with the live performances by Motel Connection, The Compact Disk Dummies and Hot Chip directly from the European Parliament’s balcony of the Ancienne Gare.
The evening will start at 7:30 p.m. with The Compact Disk Dummies, the band of very young Belgian brothers (born in 1995 and 1997), who are already greatly appreciated by critics for their inborn artistic talent. They will be followed by Motel Connection from Turin, an established Italian electronic music project which came out of Subsonica, now set to be exported, as a tribute to the home city of the event. Then there will be a DJ set by special guests Hot Chip, supported by the band’s multi-instrumentalist AL DOYLE, guitarist with LCD Soundsystem.
Vertical Stage, first staged at the Paratissima contemporary art event in Turin and then immediately repeated in Milan during International Design Week, was created by twenty-five year old Stefano Pesca from Turin with the objective of breathing new life into city spaces, which become protagonists and not merely settings for cultural events. The usual concept of a horizontal stage is subverted with Vertical Stage – hence the name – by exploiting the architecture of the buildings and their balconies. The uniqueness and prestige of the location for this edition will lend a particularly fascinating, singular effect to the event.
The choice to take part in the third edition of Vertical Stage is still further proof of Alfa Romeo's commitment to supporting events which express the highest levels of dynamism and energy. A journey that the brand set out on in 2008 and which demonstrates the values it shares with the world of music, accompanying DJ sets, concerts, bands, exhibitions and top-level sessions.
</field><field name="ar_date" pattern="dd/MM/yyyy">07/09/2011</field><field name="ar_thumbnailImage">/com/media/image/news/2011/vertical-session/vertical-stage-mito-thumb.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage1">/com/media/image/news/2011/vertical-session/vertical-stage-mito-thumb.jpg</field><field name="ar_largeImage1">/com/media/image/news/2011/vertical-session/vertical-stage-mito-zoom.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage2"></field><field name="ar_largeImage2"></field><field name="ar_mediumImage3"></field><field name="ar_largeImage3"></field><field name="ar_contentCategories"></field>

<field name="ar_titleNote">New commercial for the Giulietta</field><field name="ar_abstract">The new “Test me” commercial is now airing. The Giulietta and MiTo models feature in the exhibition area</field><field name="ar_text">
A winding dynamic road, for experiencing the emotion that only Alfa Romeo cars can offer, thanks to their agility, power and safety. This is the stand that the Brand is presenting at the 82nd Geneva Motor Show.

Two examples of the Giulietta Exclusive, a 2.0 JTDM and a 1.4 TB MultiAir, both 170 HP, are first in line to steal this evocative scene. Both feature the exclusive Alfa TCT, a transmission which operates either in completely automatic or sequential mode. The Giulietta MultiAir with Alfa TCT, in particular, is the most eco-friendly petrol compact in its category. It can boast extremely limited consumption and emissions (5.2 l/100km in the combined cycle and 121 g/km CO2 emission) while refusing to compromise on performance, worthy of the best Alfa Romeos: top speed of 218 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 in 7.7 seconds.
Recorded values also head up the category in combination with the diesel 2.0 JTDM 170 HP engine: compared to the same version with manual gearbox, acceleration from 0 to 100 takes 7.9 rather than 8.0 seconds, consumption (combined cycle) drops from 4.7 l/100km to 4.5, and CO2 emissions from 124 g/km to 119, impressive results for an engine in this category.

The spotlights are also trained on the model’s flagship: the 235 HP 1750 TBi in combination with the exclusive Quadrifoglio Verde trim level. A car which ensures a specific torque of 195 Nm/litre (the highest of the petrol cars in the category) and, as a crowning achievement, a maximum torque of 340 Nm delivered at just 1,900 rpm. A 120 HP Giulietta Distinctive 1.4 Turbo completes the exhibition.

Together with the four examples of the Giulietta, the public can admire three Alfa Romeo MiTos: in addition to the new 85 HP 0.9 Turbo TwinAir in the Distinctive trim level and the 135 HP 1.4 MultiAir with Alfa TCT twin clutch automatic transmission, the powerful 170 HP "Quadrifoglio Verde" 1.4 MultiAir Turbo, revamped with original and distinctive style elements, in addition to content which is particularly attractive in terms of comfort. It offers the innovative “Alfa Active Suspension”, a system that actively and continuously controls the electronic shock absorbers, the fruit of work by Alfa Romeo designers in conjunction with road testing, allowing the car to excel even further in terms of agility and handling, lending it exceptional driveability and unparalleled safety.

Finally, visitors will be introduced to the products of FGA Capital, a finance company specialising in the automotive sector, through illustrative materials and dedicated media at the stand.
</field><field name="ar_date" pattern="dd/MM/yyyy">05/03/2012</field><field name="ar_thumbnailImage">/com/media/image/news/2012/motor-show-geneva/news-motor-show-geneva-t.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage1">/com/media/image/news/2012/motor-show-geneva/news-motor-show-geneva-t.jpg</field><field name="ar_largeImage1">/com/media/image/news/2012/motor-show-geneva/news-motor-show-geneva-z.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage2"></field><field name="ar_largeImage2"></field><field name="ar_mediumImage3"></field><field name="ar_largeImage3"></field><field name="ar_contentCategories"></field>

<field name="ar_titleNote">A successful year, thanks to the Giulietta</field><field name="ar_abstract">Alfa Romeo enjoyed considerable growth in 2011, rising from 0.8% to 1% in Europe. That success is due its sporty saloon. The car's shares are indeed the highest that one of the brand's cars has ever achieved in the compact segment</field><field name="ar_text">
2.8% in Europe and 14.5% in Italy: these are the record-breaking shares of the Giulietta. In absolute terms this means that in 2011 alone approximately 80,000 cars were registered in Europe, of which 45% were in Italy (35,000). The foreign markets in which the Giulietta achieved the best results are France (more than 9,200 cars), the UK (more than 7,100 cars) and Germany (more than 6,300 cars), and since the launch, midway through 2010, Giuliettas ordered worldwide total almost 140,000.

The best-selling trim levels were the top-of-the-range, the "Distinctive" and "Exclusive", which depict roughly 90% of the total. Also as far as engine versions are concerned, the lion’s share is taken by the most powerful: for example, the 1.4 MultiAir 170 HP represents 15% of the sales mix, about seven times the average for the segment in this power bracket. The best-selling engine version overall, however, is the 1.6 MultiJet 105 HP, achieving 35% of total sales.

As for the colours, the top-seller is ghiaccio white (that of the advertising campaign) on 35% of the cars, whilst the reds - an indispensable part of the Alfa range - represent about 16% of the total. Speaking of red, the sport packs in the range have had a warm reception; of the customers who choose the Distinctive/Exclusive trim levels, almost half personalise their Giulietta with their own sporting touch.

The public that the Giulietta has won over is extensive and varied. The majority are customers aged 40 on the average with a medium/high-level education. Women make up 20% of the customer base (in line with the market), while families represent no less than half of purchasers, against the trend compared to the segment average which is one-fifth.

Its considerable success hinges on simple considerations. The Giulietta kept the promises she made at launch: handling and driving pleasure, quality and limited running costs, comfort and passenger room, and active and passive safety. The Giulietta has assumed a place in the tradition of the best Alfa Romeos, drawing on its heritage of dynamic performance, without compromising on efficiency and convenience in everyday use.

The secret behind this performance is drawn from continuous technological research, which finds its utmost expression in the Giulietta. One of many examples is the Alfa TCT automatic transmission, thanks to which the car achieves an excellent performance to fuel consumption ratio for the segment.

New proof of the build quality of the Giulietta is also found in the service coupons. Compared to the competition, the Giulietta is the car that has to be serviced the fewest number of times during the first three years of life or at 90,000 km. All this demonstrates the efficiency and low running costs which led to the success of the car not only among individuals but also in fleets, where the Giulietta is Italy’s best-selling car and is making it’s way into the corporate policies of Europe’s biggest companies.

Certainly one indication of the Giulietta’s superior quality is the maintenance of its value over time Nevertheless, the crucial test above all lies in customer satisfaction: 98% say that they are satisfied and almost all (90%) recommend the car, 15 points above the overall market average for models at launch.
</field><field name="ar_date" pattern="dd/MM/yyyy">05/03/2012</field><field name="ar_thumbnailImage">/com/media/image/news/2012/successful-year-giulietta/news-successful-giulietta-01-t.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage1">/com/media/image/news/2012/successful-year-giulietta/news-successful-giulietta-01-t.jpg</field><field name="ar_largeImage1">/com/media/image/news/2012/successful-year-giulietta/news-successful-giulietta-01-z.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage2">/com/media/image/news/2012/successful-year-giulietta/news-successful-giulietta-02-t.jpg</field><field name="ar_largeImage2">/com/media/image/news/2012/successful-year-giulietta/news-successful-giulietta-02-z.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage3">/com/media/image/news/2012/successful-year-giulietta/news-successful-giulietta-03-t.jpg</field><field name="ar_largeImage3">/com/media/image/news/2012/successful-year-giulietta/news-successful-giulietta-03-z.jpg</field><field name="ar_contentCategories"></field>

<field name="ar_titleNote">Two new engines for the Giulietta</field><field name="ar_abstract">Orders open for the Turbo Petrol LPG 120 HP and 1.4 Turbo Petrol 105 HP</field><field name="ar_text">
The Giulietta broke records throughout 2011, gaining the highest share ever achieved by an Alfa Romeo in the compact segment.

The very same team who contributed to the phenomenon of the Giulia came up with the official logo for the 50th anniversary of the “Giulia TI”, which was presented on 27 June 1962 at the Monza racetrack, a venue which saw the official return of Alfa Romeo to competitions three years later, with the “Giulia Sprint GTA”, another extraordinary car from the Giulia range.

The logo originates from a very famous advertisement, the slogan of which, “designed by the wind”, underscores the aerodynamic quality of the Giulia saloon, which had a cX of 0.34 – still an impressive value today – also resulting from its “revolutionary” and highly personal design, which has always differentiated the sporty Milanese saloon amid the competition.

Alfa Romeo clubs, enthusiasts and automotive fans will be paying tribute to the Giulia all over the world, culminating on 24 June in Balocco, on the test track conceived and developed over the same period as the Giulia.
</field><field name="ar_date" pattern="dd/MM/yyyy">26/04/2012</field><field name="ar_thumbnailImage">/com/media/image/news/2012/50-years-giulia/50-anni-giulia-1-t.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage1">/com/media/image/news/2012/50-years-giulia/50-anni-giulia-1-t.jpg</field><field name="ar_largeImage1">/com/media/image/news/2012/50-years-giulia/50-anni-giulia-1-z.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage2">/com/media/image/news/2012/50-years-giulia/50-anni-giulia-2-t.jpg</field><field name="ar_largeImage2">/com/media/image/news/2012/50-years-giulia/50-anni-giulia-2-z.jpg</field><field name="ar_mediumImage3">/com/media/image/news/2012/50-years-giulia/50-anni-giulia-3-t.jpg</field><field name="ar_largeImage3">/com/media/image/news/2012/50-years-giulia/50-anni-giulia-3-z.jpg</field><field name="ar_contentCategories"></field>
</contentGroup></contents></contentPage>
