Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Peperoncino in Nice for France Ironman
After Pescara, Ironman 2012 is transferring to France, in Nice. This appointment will be in the international spotlight, closely followed by the media, also due to the presence of U.S. cycling legend Lance Armstrong.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta will be on hand as both the official car of the event and as a team member racing with the Peperoncino Team at this new appointment as well. Its presence exemplifies a stronger and stronger bond with this sports discipline and its values.
In the previous stage held in Pescara, our team truly surpassed itself and won an unexpected third place with Paul Amey, a talented Brit in the international duathlon. This Peperoncino Team member left the swimming leg in one of the top positions, played for time in the cycling race and then launched a final attack in the running leg.
He completed the competition placing third with an excellent time in 4h18'28".
The Peperoncino Team has already announced the names of its athletes competing for the new appointment on 24 June.
The absence of Domenico Passuello and Marcel Zamora has been confirmed. The five-time winner of the prestigious trial of the world circuit will not be able to compete in Nice due to an injury.
The Peperoncino Team will be able to count on the talent of the transalpine Francois Chaboud, who has already won a place on the France Ironman podium, and on the transalpine Trevor Desault, long-awaited this year following the results he attained in the two amazing previous seasons.
The Peperoncino Team and the Alfa Romeo Giulietta will continue the Ironman circuit trip after the French event with the Frankfurt appointment, to which Paul Arney and Clemente Alonso will return.
