This engine combines the most advanced controlled ignition engine technologies, such as direct petrol injection, dual continuous variable valve timing, turbocharger and a revolutionary “scavenging” control system. These technologies provide: - better efficiency in all engine operating conditions - maximum reduction of consumption and emissions - more torque at low rpm - no turbo lag for incredibly fast engine response The result of these technological solutions is a specific torque of 185 Nm/l, the highest delivered by petrol engines in its category. Furthermore, peak torque of 320 Nm is delivered at only 1400 rpm - another excellent value. The performance of this engine is thus comparable to or even better than that of a 3000 cc engine, while consumption is kept down and is typical of a 1750 cc.
