Giulietta voted “Auto Europa 2011”

Among the forty finalists, UIGA (the Italian Automotive Specialised Press Association) awarded the title of “Auto Europa 2011” to the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. With 349 votes the Alfa Romeo compact headed Citroën DS3 (300), Peugeot RCZ (125), Volvo S60 (122) and BMW Series 5 saloon (100).
This is the twenty-fifth edition of prestigious award, which was won again in the past by Alfa Romeo with the MiTo (2009), 166 (1999), 156 (1998) and 164 (1988). In the words of Pierluigi Bonora, Chairman of the Union, “This model is a blend of the best Italian style and Fiat group technology, while also aiming for greater efficiency and plenty of extra safety features”.
The voting took place during the “Viva l’auto” event staged in the magnificent setting of Florence where Giulietta paraded through the centre of the historical Tuscan capital alongside Alfa Romeos from the past, proof of how today's success cannot ignore the brand's extraordinary heritage.
