Powerful, high-performance, thrilling engines, guaranteed to give the maximum driving pleasure.
The Alfa 159 comes with a choice of 6 engines - three petrol and three diesel - each of which are powerful and environmentally friendly, complying with Euro 4 standard on CO2 emissions. The three petrol engines (1.8 MPI 140 bhp, 2.2 JTS 185 bhp and 3.2 JTS V6 260 bhp) all adopt the JTS combustion chamber system.

There are also three turbodiesel engines (the 1.9 JTDM 16V 150 bhp, the 2.4 JTDM 200 bhp with automatic transmission and the 2.4 JTDM 210 bhp which is also available with four-wheel drive), ensuring excellent power and torque values in all conditions, together with low fuel consumption. The 3.2 V6 Q4 260 bhp, 2.4 JTDM 200 bhp and the 1.9 JTDM 150 bhp are also available with the innovative Q-Tronic 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Q4 – Permanent Four-Wheel Drive. Cutting-edge automotive technology.
On the 3.2 JTS V6 and the 2.4 JTDM versions, the Alfa 159 also offers the very latest permanent 4-wheel drive system with three differentials. The heart of the system is the Twindiff mechanical central differential, an evolution of the Torsen C differential.
In addition, the system also spreads the traction permanently and dynamically over the four driving wheels, thus enabling the car to reach the highest level of active safety and sporting performance.
