ALFA ROMEO AND THE 1000 MIGLIA: A TIMELESS BOND BETWEEN PAST AND FUTURE

“The most beautiful race in the world”, as Enzo Ferrari famously said, makes its comeback.

The 2021 edition of the 1000 Miglia takes place from June 16th to 19th June, starting from Brescia and returning there after visiting some of the most beautiful and evocative Italian locations.

Since Alfa Romeo history of successes is inextricably linked with this timeless and prestigious competition, is no surprise the brand is the Global Automotive Partner of the 1000 Miglia.

With the unbreakable record of 11 victories, Alfa Romeo has become part of the collective unconscious when it comes to the 1000 Miglia, cementing a neverending and strong bond with the race.

Half and half of race and adventure, the 39TH edition of the 1000 Miglia features the involvement of priceless vintage cars, including some of the most admired classic Alfa Romeo models, belonging to the collection of the Heritage department that protect and promote the historical heritage of Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia and Abarth.

For the joy and the admiration of the audience, the only models that can take part in the event must have competed in the 1000 Miglia from 1927 to 1957.

The Stellantis Heritage department helped bringing the historical gems of the group back into competition at the 1000 Miglia.

The extraordinary Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 SS, a 1928 masterpiece on wheels, is just one of the classic cars that participate in the competition once again in 2021.

A bridge between past and future, the concept of the 2021 edition of the 1000 Miglia is “Crossing the Future”, a name that celebrates the fundamental contribution of technological innovation in the automotive field and the challenging link between history and the upcoming scenarios of mobility.

Alfa Romeo itself shares with the race this aim for innovation and improvement: because in its 111 years, the brand was able to mutate remaining loyal to its spirit.

Today, the brand heritage is influencing engineers and designers to give shape to new models, like the new Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA, inspired from the classic 1965 model.

A new supercar that brings back the technical uniqueness and the tradition of sporting successes of the “Gran Turismo Alleggerita” in a contemporary form, the new Giulia GTA was recently presented to the international press at the Balocco Providing Ground, where everything started in 1960.

And the 2021 1000 Miglia is of course the perfect theatre to make the brand’s fans discover more about the new Giulia GTA, that is in attendance at the race.

Another good reason that makes the event an unmissable one for all the brand lovers.
