Alfa Romeo and Luna Rossa: Napoli welcomes the teams of the 38th America’s Cup

On 21 January in Naples, the America’s Cup Partnership was officially unveiled, along with the teams that will compete for the 2027 trophy. During the press conference at the 18th-century Court Theatre of the Royal Palace, organizers also announced the date of the highly anticipated Match of the Cup: it will begin with two opening races on Saturday, 10 July 2027, and conclude over the weekend of 17-18 July 2027.

Among those attending the event were the Minister for Sport and Youth, the Mayor of Naples, and the President of the Campania Region. Representing Luna Rossa were Vice President Giulio Bertelli and Chief Executive Officer Max Sirena, who said that competing on home waters, in front of thousands of passionate fans, gives the team a deep sense of responsibility – but it also fuels their energy, driving them to rise to the challenge and deliver their very best performance.
